The Rose

This is based off a very short story I found in my Brother's Grimm book. It was about this mother who had two children, the youngest of which would go to the forest everyday to fetch wood. One time when she had gone a long way to find some, a strange, young little boy came and helped her carry the wood home, but before a moment had passed the child disappeared. The girl told her mother about this, but her mother would not believe it. So after a little while she brought home a rose, and told her mother that the little boy had given her the rose, and that when it was in full bloom, he would return. The mother put the rose in water. A few days later her daughter would not get out of bed. The mother went to the bed and found her daughter dead, but looking very happy. On the same morning, the rose was in full bloom.

I'm intrigued by this story because I am really not sure what happened. I don't know why the girl died, who the boy was, the reason for the rose, or how it all fits together. So I created this photo. And in this photo, I'm not really sure what's going on either, though I'd love to hear your input if you have one.

I also wanted to make this because I feel as though my photos lately have been lacking emotion. I'm trying to make them more real. And I really wanted link a song that goes along with this but I just can't seem to find one that conveys the right emotions.
